Reception Pupils Learn About SMA Through Dolcie’s Awareness Campaign
Back
In Reception, Dolcie has been helping to raise awareness of Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA).
She kindly brought stickers into school to share with her classmates and together the children read the story Smasharoo, which helped them learn more about SMA and the different ways it can affect families.
The children also spent time discussing the importance of kindness, understanding and supporting others.
To continue raising awareness and funds for SMA, Dolcie’s family are taking part in the ‘Marathon in May for SMA’ challenge, completing 26.2 miles across the month in any way they choose. Every mile completed helps to raise awareness of SMA and support those affected by the condition.
We are incredibly proud of Dolcie for helping our school community learn more about SMA and for showing such positivity, courage and determination each day.
