Reception pupils enjoyed a visit from Holly, our Oral Health Improvement Practitioner, who delivered an engaging and interactive session on the importance of looking after their teeth.
During the visit, Holly spoke to the children about good oral hygiene habits and explained why keeping their teeth clean is important for maintaining a healthy smile. The pupils learned the correct way to brush their teeth, including how long they should brush for and how to reach all areas of their mouths effectively.
The session also included discussions about healthy eating and how different foods and drinks can affect dental health. The children explored which foods help keep teeth strong and healthy, as well as those that can contribute to tooth decay if consumed too often.
To put their learning into practice, the children took part in a supervised tooth-brushing activity in school, where they demonstrated the techniques they had learned. The session was both informative and enjoyable, helping the children build confidence in caring for their teeth and encouraging healthy habits that they can continue at home.
