Year 6 Celebrate in Style at Their Leavers' Party

What a fantastic way to round off an unforgettable journey at Oxclose Primary Academy! On the last Thursday of term, our Year 6 pupils gathered on the school field for a spectacular Leavers' Party that was packed with fun, laughter and festival vibes from start to finish.

The field was transformed into a celebration zone, complete with a giant inflatable slide, bouncy castle, inflatable football goal and even a slush machine, all kindly provided by a local bouncy castle company. With music playing from a Bluetooth speaker and the summer sunshine adding to the atmosphere, the event felt like a mini festival dedicated to our amazing Year 6 children.

There was no shortage of activities to keep everyone entertained. Pupils enjoyed a sweet stall where they could create their own mix-up of favourite treats, while lawn games including football golf and ring toss provided plenty of friendly competition. The giant slide proved especially popular, with children fearlessly throwing themselves down again and again. Thankfully, despite the enthusiasm and excitement, there were no injuries to report! In fact, the children were having so much fun that they even managed to persuade some members of staff to join in the action.

After working up an appetite, everyone enjoyed a special meal prepared by Mrs Emery and the hardworking kitchen team. Pupils were able to choose from a range of favourites, including pizza, burgers, chicken tenders and battered sausage. The delicious feast was the perfect fuel for an evening of celebration.

As if that wasn't enough, dessert arrived in the form of a fantastic ice cream van, kindly provided by Zen Education, a company that works closely with our school throughout the year. The cold treats were a huge hit and rounded off the evening perfectly.

Most importantly, the party gave our Year 6 pupils the chance to spend quality time together, sharing laughter and making memories before they begin the next exciting chapter of their lives. It was a wonderful evening filled with friendship, fun and celebration—everything our leavers deserved after their hard work and achievements this year.
